The Bakery Manager will be responsible for leading the Bakery department, managing Supervisors, Bakers, Cake Decorators and Wrappers. The role will also involve monitoring operations, tackling inefficiencies and developing business plans and strategies to meet sales targets.

Duties will include:

andmiddot; Develop, train, counsel and direct department personnel

andmiddot; Ensure schedules meet the needs of the department

andmiddot; Make recommendations for hiring, promotion and termination to the Warehouse Manager

andmiddot; Review and approve area timecards

andmiddot; Draft and present employee performance evaluations

andmiddot; Oversee the flow of operations and check quality and consistency of finished products

andmiddot; Ensure department procedures are properly followed

andmiddot; Develop and present sales and merchandising plans to meet sales targets

andmiddot; Determine production requirements based on income statements

andmiddot; Maintain strong teamwork and communication within the department and across the warehouse

andmiddot; Provide and ensure prompt and courteous service to members, employees and vendors

andmiddot; Support the management team with ad-hoc security checks and alarm callouts as required

The successful Bakery Manager will:

andmiddot; Be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent

andmiddot; Hold an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certification

andmiddot; Have bakery and/or management experience ideally

andmiddot; Have strong managerial, communication and leadership skills
