The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Careers Adviser to join our Student Services team. Reporting to the Head of Student Services, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance (IAG) to prospective, current, and former students. You will work closely with students to support informed decision-making around course and learning options, career pathways, and the development of essential employability skills. Using your professional expertise and guidance techniques, you will encourage individuals to set ambitious goals, build motivation, and achieve positive outcomes at the end of their studies.

You will collaborate with colleagues, parents, employers, and a range of stakeholders to ensure individuals are fully supported in exploring the many opportunities available to them.
You will also play an active role in promoting education, training, and career pathways, building strong partnerships across the college and with external organisations throughout East Lancashire and beyond.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a suitably qualified Careers Adviser with experience of working within an educational or training environment and a strong, up-to-date understanding of the courses and career pathways available to students.
You will bring experience of delivering careers and employability-related IAG, along with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of students and clients. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential, as you will be required to build professional relationships with individuals across the college and with external partners.
You will be confident in engaging with stakeholders to showcase the wide range of careers, education, and training opportunities available regionally and beyond, supporting students to make well-informed and aspirational choices about their future.
