Westray Recruitment Group is seeking a Production Engineering Supervisor on behalf of an established, family-owned engineering business providing precision machining, fitting and assembly, balancing, shot blasting and painting, pressure testing and associated engineering services to customers across a range of demanding industries.

  • Package: £21.19 per hour (including night shift rate & shift allowance)
  • Working Pattern: Monday-Thursday (4x10 hour shifts, days and nights)

Specializing in small-to-large-scale precision engineering, our client serves high-integrity, demanding sectors-including defense, marine, rail, and power-exporting high-quality British manufacturing globally. Following recent investment in new plant machinery and facility upgrades, they are now seeking to expand their team within a clean, modern, and supportive working environment.
THE ROLE
  • Produce a range of high precision parts from billets, fabrications, castings, and forgings across various metals.
  • Set, programme, and operate CNC vertical borers ranging from 500mm to 7,000mm in diameter (dependent on experience).
  • Work collaboratively with production support, quality, and management teams on interesting, high-value projects to meet strict customer standards.
  • Maintain a meticulous focus on quality and component care throughout the manufacturing process.
THE PERSON
  • Time-served machinist having completed a recognised Machine Shop apprenticeship.
  • Proven background operating and setting lathes or vertical borers.
  • Strong technical ability to set one-off jobs, write/edit programmes, and accurately read engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in using manual measurement equipment to verify dimensions and surface finishes.
  • Possesses a growth mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning and skills development.
