Cover Supervisors - Secondary Schools in Slough | £110-£140/day

Flexible daily supply work across Slough & surrounding areas

Principal Education is looking for passionate, enthusiastic and reliable individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Slough and the surrounding areas.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working with young people, including youth workers, sports coaches, behaviour mentors and other professionals looking to bring their skills into the classroom.

We are looking for candidates based in Slough, Langley, Datchet, Windsor, Eton, Burnham, Maidenhead and nearby areas who are looking for flexible opportunities to work in education.

These are flexible, daily supply roles, giving you the freedom to choose when you're available to work, with opportunities for ongoing roles also available.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll take responsibility for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a safe, positive and productive learning environment.

You'll deliver pre-prepared lesson materials or activities provided by teaching staff and support pupils with their learning, behaviour and engagement across a range of subjects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a positive role model for students while developing valuable classroom management and education experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring safety, discipline and engagement

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials or activities provided by teaching staff

• Support students with behavioural and learning needs to promote inclusion and positive outcomes

• Act as a positive role model, encouraging respect and teamwork in the classroom

• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behaviour incidents

• Communicate effectively with teaching staff and school leadership regarding any issues or successes during cover lessons

What You MUST demonstrate

• Experience working with children or young people, such as youth work, sports coaching, behaviour mentoring or similar

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to manage behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment

• Flexibility, reliability and the ability to adapt to a variety of classroom settings

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people

• Right to work in the UK

• An enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to complete a new application

• Overseas police clearance if you have lived abroad for 6+ months within the last 5 years

• Based in Slough or within a commutable distance

Pay & Benefits

• £110-£140 per day for flexible daily cover, depending on experience

• Higher pay rates available for ongoing roles, aligned with the unqualified teacher pay scale (see guidance here)
