Handyman/Woman, Immediate Start, -20.00 per hour DOE, Blantyre

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards
• Perform carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, windows, furniture, or framing structures
• Handle plumbing repairs including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and installing fixtures
• Carry out roofing repairs or maintenance to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing
• Apply construction painting techniques to refresh walls, ceilings, or exterior surfaces
• Execute masonry work such as bricklaying or concrete repairs for durability and aesthetic appeal
• Use hand tools and power tools safely for fabrication, welding, electrical installations, or general repairs
• Collaborate with team members on larger projects requiring specialized skills or fabrication work
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used to ensure accountability and efficiency

Skills

• Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work or related fields
• Strong knowledge of hand tools and power tools for various repair and fabrication tasks
• Ability to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions quickly
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges
• Good physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks in diverse environments
• Clear understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites and maintenance activities
• Ability to read technical diagrams or blueprints is a plus but not required
