We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a major commercial construction project. The successful Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for managing all mechanical building services from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Mechanical Project Manager with a proven background in commercial M&E projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of all mechanical building services on commercial construction projects.
- Lead site teams, Mechanical Supervisors, subcontractors, and specialist suppliers.
- Ensure the Mechanical Project Manager maintains the highest standards of health and safety throughout the project.
- Prepare and monitor project programmes, budgets, procurement schedules, and resource plans.
- Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, architectural, and structural packages.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Attend client, consultant, and site meetings, providing regular progress updates.
- Monitor project costs, variations, valuations, and commercial performance.
- Ensure quality inspections, testing, commissioning, and project handover are completed successfully.
- Identify and manage project risks while implementing effective solutions.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Ensure all mechanical works comply with current regulations, company procedures, and project specifications.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Project Manager delivering commercial construction or M&E projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, pipework, and mechanical building services.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and project programmes.
- Excellent commercial awareness and budget management skills.
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualification and a valid CSCS card.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
