Middle Leader - Person Centred Practice Lead

Job Description

Middle Leader- Person-Centred Practice Lead

Salary: MPS + SEND + TLR 2

Are you committed and passionate about autism education and ensuring that every child and young person receives truly person-centred support?

We are looking for an inspirational and motivated leader to join our established team as Person-Centred Practice Lead.

This is a real opportunity to make a difference for the children and young people that we teach. This role combines strategic leadership with classroom practice, enabling you to influence provision across the school whilst maintaining direct involvement in teaching and learning through a 0.5 teaching commitment.

Sutherland House School is a non-maintained special school for autistic children and young people aged 3-19. The school is in the heart of the Creative Quarter in the City Centre, located near the Sneinton Avenues market area.

At Sutherland House School, Positive Behaviour Support and Person-Centred approaches are of paramount importance, and you will play a key role in ensuring these principles remain central to everything we do. We offer small class groups, high staffing ratios and excellent opportunities for training and continued professional development.

As a middle leader, you will play a critical role in promoting, developing and embedding person-centred practice across the school. You will work with colleagues to ensure pupils' voices, preferences, strengths and aspirations are reflected within planning, decision making and daily practice.

You will lead the strategic development of person-centred approaches, support staff development, monitor the quality and consistency of practice and contribute to the school's improvement priorities. Working collaboratively with leaders across the school, you will help ensure that all pupils receive consistent, high-quality experiences that enable them to thrive.

The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner with strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for improving outcomes for autistic children and young people.

Previous experience of working with autistic children and young people or within a SEND environment is desirable, although full training and support will be provided.
