Role: Quality Inspector
Location: Bristol
Salary: Up to £43,000 depending on experience
My client is a well-established precision engineering business based in Bristol, supplying high-quality components into demanding industries where accuracy and quality are critical.
They are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team, working within a busy manufacturing environment and ensuring components meet the required drawings, specifications and quality standards.
The role will involve inspecting precision-machined components throughout the manufacturing process, carrying out final inspection and completing the necessary quality documentation.
Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision-engineered components
- Inspecting components against engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements
- Using a range of conventional inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, gauges and height gauges
- Using more advanced inspection equipment where required
- Identifying and reporting non-conforming parts
- Completing inspection reports and maintaining accurate quality records
- Supporting FAIR and other quality documentation
- Working closely with CNC machinists and the wider production team to resolve quality issues
- Ensuring all work is completed to the required quality standards and tolerances
- Supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing and inspection processes
Skills and experience:
- Previous experience working as a Quality Inspector within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components
- Competent using a range of manual inspection equipment
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection
- Ability to identify issues and work with production teams to resolve them
- Good understanding of quality procedures and documentation
- Experience within aerospace, defence or another high-precision manufacturing environment would be advantageous
