Sales Engineer
Job Description
We're hiring a Sales Engineer to join a global engineering manufacturer based in Coventry. If you have a background in internal technical sales, applications engineering or technical support and want to build your career in external technical sales, we'll give you the product training and support you need while you work with OEMs, distributors and end users across a variety of industrial markets.
BASIC SALARY: Up to £50,000

LOCATION: You will ideally be based in or near Coventry. You will cover the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions. Travel is required, including overnight stays.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Sales Engineer - Industrial Components, Power Transmission, Engineering Solutions - Manufacturing & Industrial Markets
As our Sales Engineer, you'll manage and develop relationships with distributors, OEMs and end users, helping customers identify the right engineering solutions for their applications. You'll inherit an established customer base while developing new business opportunities across multiple industrial sectors. This is a consultative field sales role where both technical credibility and commercial awareness are essential. You will:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales Engineer - Industrial Components, Power Transmission, Engineering Solutions
andmiddot; Provide technical advice and application support to customers
andmiddot; Deliver product presentations and training to distributors
andmiddot; Visit customers throughout the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions
andmiddot; Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline using CRM
andmiddot; Deliver against sales targets and KPIs
andmiddot; Work closely with product specialists and the wider sales team to develop customer solutions
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Sales Engineer - Industrial Components, Power Transmission, Engineering Solutions
We're looking for someone with a strong technical engineering background combined with commercial experience who is ready to take the next step into a customer-facing external sales role. You'll ideally have:
andmiddot; Experience in internal sales, applications engineering, technical support or technical customer service within an engineering or manufacturing environment
andmiddot; Knowledge of power transmission, bearings, geared products, industrial components or related mechanical engineering products
andmiddot; Experience supporting OEMs, distributors or end users
andmiddot; Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
andmiddot; Strong communication and relationship-building skills
andmiddot; A proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities
andmiddot; Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a sales territory
andmiddot; Willingness to travel across the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions
