Secondary SEMH Teacher

Chelmsford, Essex | Permanent | January 2027 or sooner

We are recruiting for a Secondary Teacher to join a specialist SEMH setting in Chelmsford.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working with young people who need a different approach to mainstream education. The school provides a supportive, nurturing environment with smaller class sizes, allowing teachers to build strong relationships with pupils and make a genuine impact.

The role:

• Teaching pupils across KS3 and KS4

• Open to teachers from a range of secondary subject backgrounds, particularly core subjects

• Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs

• Creating engaging lessons that help pupils rebuild confidence in education

• Working closely with support and pastoral staff

• Permanent position starting January 2027, or sooner for the right teacher

We are looking for someone who:

• Has secondary teaching experience

• Is confident managing behaviour positively and consistently

• Can build strong relationships with pupils who may have struggled in mainstream education

• Is patient, resilient and adaptable

• Has SEND/SEMH experience, or a genuine interest in moving into a specialist setting
