SEN Teaching Assistant (PMLD and Complex Needs) - Rochdale
Aspire People is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Rochdale for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex additional needs.

This is a highly rewarding role that combines learning support with complex care responsibilities. You will work alongside teachers, therapists and specialist support staff to help pupils access their education while ensuring their physical, medical and emotional needs are met.
Many pupils require significant adult support throughout the day, and the successful candidate must be comfortable providing practical assistance in a respectful and dignified manner. Building positive relationships with pupils and understanding their individual communication methods will be a key part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with PMLD and complex learning needs within the classroom and around the school
- Assist with personal care while promoting dignity, privacy and independence
- Support pupils with feeding programmes, including PEG feeding where required and following appropriate training
- Assist with moving and handling procedures using specialist equipment
- Support pupils who require hoisting, positioning and mobility assistance
- Deliver sensory learning activities under the guidance of teaching and therapy staff
- Help pupils access communication systems and personalised learning activities
- Monitor pupil wellbeing and report concerns appropriately
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals
- Contribute to a safe, positive and inclusive school environment

Essential Requirements
- Full-time availability, Monday to Friday
- Eligible to work in the UK
