Senior Highways Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Highways Engineer to join a growing highways engineering team in London. This role is ideal for someone with around 6-9 years' experience who is looking to take ownership of projects while working within a collaborative and supportive environment.
You'll play a key role in delivering highway infrastructure projects across a diverse portfolio of developments, working with a broad range of private sector clients including developers, landowners, housebuilders, retailers, universities, healthcare providers and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
andmiddot;Deliver highway design projects from concept through to construction.
andmiddot;Design highway schemes in accordance with DMRB, Manual for Streets 1 & 2, LTN 1/20 and local authority design standards.
andmiddot;Produce engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
andmiddot;Prepare technical reports, calculations and design documentation.
andmiddot;Manage and coordinate Section 278 and Section 38 highway schemes.
andmiddot;Review utility diversions associated with highway works.
andmiddot;Apply CDM Regulations 2015 throughout project delivery.
andmiddot;Work collaboratively with transport planners, engineers and technicians to deliver integrated solutions.
andmiddot;Assist with project management, programme delivery and client liaison.
andmiddot;Prepare fee proposals, technical submissions and tender documentation.
andmiddot;Support the preparation of optioneering studies, GG104 Risk Assessments, GG142 Walking, Cycling and Horse-Riding Assessments and GG119 Road Safety Audits.
About You
You'll ideally have:
andmiddot;A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
andmiddot;Approximately 6-9 years' experience in highways design, ideally within a consultancy environment.
andmiddot;Strong knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, Section 278 and Section 38 processes.
andmiddot;Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTrack and MicroDrainage.
andmiddot;An understanding of National Highways and London Borough design standards.
andmiddot;Membership of, or working towards membership of, ICE or CIHT.
andmiddot;Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
andmiddot;Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
andmiddot;A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
